Location and nearby objects
Margareten is a former working-class district with a large number of municipal buildings, among which there are the sights of the Red Vienna period (1918–1934), including Metzleinstaler Hof — Vienna's first municipal building, erected in 1920.
Here you can find a charming patio, where often cafes and restaurants are arranged, there are also architectural gems near Margaretenplatts and historical coffee shops (for example, Café Rüdigerhof), cinema Filmcasino, which demonstrates the independent films in the original language and the Theater zum Fürchten — Vienna's largest theater ensemble.
Margareten is the most affordable district inside the Gürtel, but not the cheapest when compared to all parts of the city. There are not many sights as in other central areas, but houses has a large area. Another advantage is the proximity to the center (1st district).
