Lichtenberg is one of the twelve districts of Berlin. The area is very stretched from north to south, and in the north it borders with Brandenburg. The district developed in this way: industry first came here. And for industry came housing. After the Second World War, the development of the area continues, and now to the south of Frankfurt Avenue there is a large housing estate of almost ten thousand apartments.
The area is very green. Attractions include the Friedrichsfelde Zoo and the Berlin-Karlhorst Museum of the History of the Second World War.
