Location and nearby infrastructure
Obuda is the oldest district of Budapest, its name is translated as “Old Buda”. True, little is left of the former Obuda: in the XX century, in many parts of the district, old buildings were replaced by panel high-rise buildings, and today the III district of the Hungarian capital looks like an eclectic mixture of all eras and architectural styles.
In the central microdistricts of Obuda, where most of the attractions are concentrated, you can see the ruins of the ancient Roman settlement Aquincum, visit the Museum of Victor Vasarely (Vasarely Muzeuma) and the Zichy-kastély palace.
The III district of Budapest is home to a lot of young people, new restaurants, shops and trendy bars are constantly opening here. In summer, Obud often hosts art exhibitions, theater festivals, concerts of jazz and classical music.
