Tuscany Liguria border country villa with pool — Set in acres of peaceful countryside on the edge of the small hilltop village of Bolano, this substantial country villa with private pool and badminton court enjoys an enviable situation among the Appenine mountain range on the border between Liguria and Tuscany, just ten miles away from Lerici and the Italian Riviera. The famous Cinque Terre and Portovenere, all well connected to Lerici by a regular ferry service, are within twenty miles; similarly, the long sandy beaches of the Versilia coast in Tuscany are also very easy to reach from this villa.

Surrounded by almost ten acres of typical Mediterranean grounds planted with vineyards, olive groves, chestnuts and acacia trees, this traditional Italian villa enjoys sweeping views over the rolling countryside stretching towards Tuscany and Liguria. This property is surrounded by a long covered terrace under which to dine al fresco or just relax after an invigorating swim in the pool or a badminton match on the villa’s private court. More fun and games are available indoors, in the large billiard room equipped with a full size billiard table.

Lunigiana is also the name of this attractive region nestling between Tuscany and Liguria, therefore ‘enjoying the best of both worlds’. If you head towards the Italian Riviera you will come across some of Italy’s most picturesque coastal villages, whose colourful terraced houses are a distinctive landmark and a cheerful sight from the sea. The coastline there is incredibly beautiful with unspoilt hidden coves, rocky cliffs and caves. For a complete change of scenery, head to Tuscany's uninterrupted stretch of sandy beaches along the famous Versilia coast, with lively resorts providing non-stop entertainment throughout summer. If you are passionate about history, arts and antiques, you mustn’t miss the Festival of Culture taking place in Sarzana at the end of August, when this elegant medieval town becomes a lively open air antique fair winding through narrow lanes and squares full of pavement cafes and restaurants.
