Built in 1880 this villa was chosen as the country residence of the architect Giovanni Battista Milani, one of the maximum exponents of Roman architecture in the first decades of the 20th century. This charming property is positioned on top of a hill facing the small town of Spoleto and enjoys spectacular panoramic views of the entire Umbrian Valley. The large rooms on the ground floor reflect the memory of the person who created and lived in this villa. There is a monumental stone fireplace, a coffered ceiling with an aristocratic coat of arms and flooring in marble, terracotta and decorative tiles creating elegant and sophisticated patterns. The bedrooms are furnished using valuable period pieces. Five of the bedrooms have air conditioning. The rooftop loggia bedroom is extremely romantic and offers stunning views. The same goes for the outdoor areas: the beautiful Italian-style garden which features mythological statues, Renaissance fountains, decorative capitals, a precious loggia and other wonderful details that adorn the façades of the Villa; as well as the swimming pool overlooking the Valico della Somma, with its spectacular panorama. The 18th century portal of the reception room leads to the delightful Italian-style garden with flowerbeds filled with ancient roses, lavender and agapanthus surrounded by box-wood hedges, plus three large furnished terraces which offer thrilling views. The natural arena of Spoleto with the impressive Ponte delle Torri, the massive Rocca Albornoziana, the roofs of the palazzos and the outlines of the bell-towers set against the backdrop of the Umbrian Valley all contribute to making the surrounding scenery so unique. The villa has WI-FI, satellite TV, a safe in every bedroom and a laundry room with washing machine and tumble drier. The villa ’s staff will tidy the rooms every day and prepare breakfast, a buffet lunch and supper. Spoleto, the expression of medieval culture, is an important tourist destination for anyone who loves visiting artistic and monumental places. It is also famous for its gastronomy and for the quality of the truffles that grow in its woods and in the surrounding areas. The most important event is The Spoleto Festival known as the Festival Dei Due Mondi [Festival of the Two Worlds], that is held in the months of June and July. It is an international music, arts, culture and entertainment festival that has been held every year in the city of Spoleto since 1958. The idea of its founder was to unite two different cultures and artistic worlds (European and American), dedicating a vast space to art and its forms of expression.
