Umbria. Prestigious property born from an ancient religious settlement that dates back to the sixteenth century, although the core is believed to belong to at least half of the thirteenth century. Some scholars believe that the Renaissance team was built on early Christian bases, thus giving prominence to its exclusively religious function in the Middle Ages.
We can easily define that the property was a stopping point of pilgrims moving along the sacred way of Monte Oliveto, Chiusi, Castiglione del Lago and Arezzo.
The structure, which looks like a small village, is composed of a main building where the rooms have been created today, and a second part detached, today the breakfast room, once an ancient wood-burning oven, that the religious used to bake bread and put the grain for the winter.
The structure that was once a small church with a sacristy on the top floor, has today become a Grand Suite with two floors. The Relais, to date, has 17 rooms, divided into Classic, Deluxe, Junior Suite, Suite and Grand Suite, in most of which you can still appreciate the originality and antiquity of the structure, with old wooden beams and holy water fonts. The restaurant has been re-created from a warehouse of supplies, and the same cellar of the past has become a wine bar.
The orangery is totally new building dwelling in the greens. Also adjacent to the pool area, from the demolition of an outbuilding that served as storage for agricultural vehicles and limonaia for plants, a new building was born, that now is used for various types of events, connected and at the same time totally independent from the Relais, with a lounge and a terrace of 300 square meters each, and a winter garden of another 140 m²
