Uzumlu village is located in a valley 500 meters above sea level, surrounded by pine forests and mountains. The main market of the city, with its magnificent harbor, shops and nightlife, is located in 18 km from Fethiye and 30 km from the beach and the Blue Lagoon of Olu Deniz. Uzumlu village literally translated as ”grape yard“, and the village is almost untouched by modern infrastructure development and retains its old Turkish tradition. Thanks to the warm climate in the country grows a lot of grape bushes. Therefore, the main famous traditional products is a grape juice, vinegar, and, of course, wine. Also, there is a good harvest of olives, olive oil, tobacco, figs. Also, there is active development of the weaving industry.
At 400 meters above the village lies the ancient Lycian city of Cadianda with monuments dating back to the 5th century B. C.
The nearest beach to Uzumlu is Calis Beach with 15 km of dark sand and pebbles, which are enveloped the endless waters of the bay.
