The house is located in Prcanj. It is said that already in the time of the Roman Empire there was a small settlement on the territory of nowadays Prcanj. During the rule of the Republic of Venice, the city received many privileges and tax breaks. Since 1625, the postal function was officially confirmed by decree, which gave citizens a privileged position and freed them from other duties. Soon, Prcanj became a major postal hub, which handled transit mail from Istanbul, and transported mail by water to Venice. At the beginning of the XX century, Prcanj became a haven for Russian refugees who were looking for salvation from Soviet Russia. For the needs of refugees, a Russian Home For Disabled was opened in the city, it was considered one of the largest in all of Europe. Today, Prcanj is a small picturesque town, beautiful with a rich history.
