Greek Parliament: investors can apply for €250,000 Golden Visa until 31 July 2023

According to Migration Code No. 5038/2023 (article 177, paragraph 11), foreign buyers will have to select a property in Greece and conclude a preliminary contract of sale until 31 July 2023. Foreign nationals may obtain a residence permit for the purchase of real estate with a minimum investment threshold of 250,000 euro if they pay 10% of the total property cost.

Investors may pay in full for selected property and submit documents until 31 December 2023. In August 2023, the minimum investment amount will double.

Earlier, last September, the Greek government reported that they had changed the minimum investment requirements for the Golden Visa programme — from 250,000 to 500,000 euro. The transition period was set for buyers until April 30, 2023 in order to have time to purchase real estate and apply for a residence permit under the old rules — with a minimum amount of 250,000 euro.
