Investors to obtain Greek residence permit for 250,000 euro until December 31, 2023
Earlier, Greek authorities changed the Golden Visa programme. In the most popular areas among investors in Greece, the minimum investment threshold has increased to 500,000 euros since January 1, 2023. At the same time, it is necessary to invest only in one object of property. This rule is related to the northern, central and southern districts of Athens, the city of Thessaloniki, the islands of Mykonos and Santorini.
In the other areas an investor may buy several properties with a total value of 250,000 euro or more.
However, the Greek authorities have granted a deferral until the end of 2023. In areas where the investment limit rises, the buyers can apply for a residence permit under the previous rules, if they make a deposit of 10% of property price before April 30, 2023. They have to close a deal before December 31, 2023. Also, investors may provide documents for a residence permit later, as the main requirement is to purchase a suitable property before the deadline.
