Israel: record number of apartment sales in June

According to The Jerusalem Post, the Finance Ministry said that 13,800 apartments were sold in June, which means the highest amount in six years. This continues a trend that has been growing since the beginning of the year.

The total was 26% more than the number of apartments sold in June last year.

A total of 37,000 apartments were sold in the second quarter, surpassing the previous record of 36,000 set in the second quarter of 2015, before the purchase tax increase.

According to the Finance Ministry, about 9,100 sales per month were second-hand apartments, and 5,900 were purchased by young couples.

Demand on properties continues to grow, despite the high prices in Israel. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, property prices have already increased by an average of nearly 8% in 2020.
