Short-term rental revenues rise sharply in Greece

Short-term rental revenues in Greece increased in 2022. Particularly, the biggest increases were observed in such areas as Athens, in the Athenian suburb of Glyfada, Paros, Argostoli on Kefalonia, Peraia near Thessaloniki, and Pefkohori in Halkidiki.

Based on Transparent’s research, presented at the ShortStay 2023 conference at the University of Western Attica, the biggest annual increase was recorded on the island of Paros (+50%).

In addition, the southern suburbs and the centre of Athens were considered to be places with rising demand for short-term rentals in Attica. In 2022 Athens, the annual revenue growth was 37% (22,302 euro). In Glyfada, the growth was 45% (30,592 euro), Alimos had growth of 31% (24,078 euro) and Paleo Faliro had growth of 11% (19,924 euro).

At the conference, the representatives of Key Data said that in 2022 the total amount of short-term rental revenues in Greece reached 3.46 billion euro.
