Turkey's Property Market in Q1 2025: Sales Growth of 20%

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) recently published the report on residential property transactions for March. The article collected data for the first quarter of this year.
In Turkey as a whole, the 3 months recorded a significant increase in sales for the beginning of 2025, which is 20% more than the same period in 2024. From January to March 335,787 properties were sold.

Among foreign nationals, the number of transactions continues to gradually decrease — they were recorded 20% less compared to the first quarter of 2024 (4,603 objects).
The top 3 regions for property sales by foreigners are Istanbul, Antalya and Mersin. Istanbul leads in the number of sales to foreigners with 1,785 transactions in January-March. Antalya is in second place with 1,468 transactions. Mersin has 348 transactions.
As in the previous year, Russians continue to be the most active foreign buyers in the property market. They bought 779 properties in the first quarter 2025. Iranian, Ukrainian, Iraqi and German nationals are the next leading buyers in terms of number of transactions.
In terms of price trends, the prices for new buildings in Istanbul as a whole rose 11% year-on-year — 1,458 dollars per square metre in March 2025, according to the Endeksa platform. In Antalya, dollar prices for new buildings also increased by 7.76%, and in Mersin by 6.82%.
