Cyprus: airport passenger traffic reaches nearly 5 million tourists — more than pre-pandemic period figures

In the six months, from January to June 2023, the number of passengers using Larnaca and Paphos airports on the island of Cyprus exceeded 4.8 million, which is 3% more than in the pre-pandemic period in 2019. This data was provided by the international consortium Hermes Airports. According to the Airports Council International, Cyprus has performed best in Europe in recovering passenger traffic after the pandemic as soon as possible.
In the first half of 2023, Larnaca Airport handled more than 3 million passengers, and Paphos Airport accepted more than 1 million passengers.
During the first half of 2023, the main destinations in terms of departing passengers were the UK, Greece, Israel, Poland and Germany. The countries rounding out the top ten are Austria, Romania, Hungary, Armenia and France.
