Foreign property buyers in Cyprus: shares of EU residents and non-EU nationals
In September 2023, the number of non-EU nationals among property buyers in Cyprus totalled 224. This figure is 44% higher than in September 2022.
One transaction of EU residents accounts for 1.4 transactions of non-EU citizens. The proportion has been maintained for the third consecutive month.
In 2022, the share of EU buyers was much higher: in September, EU residents accounted for 66% of all property buyers in Cyprus. The figure is currently 50% less than a year earlier.
According to the Department of Lands and Surveys, 39% of non-EU residents choose property in Paphos. Larnaca and Limassol follow it as popular destinations (22% and 20%, respectively). Besides, non-EU residents prefer property in Nicosia and Famagusta (11% and 8%, respectively).
