According to the Greek news portal Greek City Times, individuals with 3 or more properties for short-term rentals will pay 13% VAT from 1 January 2024. Such properties include accommodation on the Airbnb platform.

Earlier Tranio analysts reviewed the rental market in Athens in this article related to profitability. Calculations were made and specific property was analysed. The survey took into account all costs and taxes. The results showed that Athens investment apartments were more profitable to rent in the long term than in the short term.
