Greece to provide Turkish citizens with simplified visas to visit islands in the Aegean Sea.

The Greek government has confirmed that the European Union has already approved the programme. This was announced by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis after a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The launch of temporary visas will boost tourism in the Greek islands and develop economic activity between two countries. The programme also shows that Turkey and Greece are gradually leaving behind the period of heightened tensions and conflicts.
The visa will be valid for a maximum of 7 days per entry. Turkish citizens will be able to visit all year round the 10 islands of Greece: Lemnos, Chios, Samos, Lesvos, Leros, Kalymnos, Kos, Rhodes, Symi, and Kastelorizo.
Currently, Turkish citizens need to apply for a Schengen visa to visit Greece for tourism purposes.
