In December 2024, the Hungarian government excluded the possibility of making property investments of 500 thousand euros from the Golden Visa programme.
Currently only two options are available to obtain a residence permit for investment purposes in Hungary:
- Investments from €250,000 in accredited real estate funds.
- Investments of €1 million or more in higher education institutions.
At present, only one fund is licensed. New funds are expected to join the scheme this year.
