In recent months, we have received three similar requests to source property in London. This article features real client stories and a look at how property is purchased in the UK capital with Tranio.

Comfort for the Family, Confidence for the Future

The family from Eastern Europe was looking for a ready-to-move-in apartment for their son, who had been accepted to a London university.
They were already familiar with the city and had a clear idea of what they wanted: not a buy-to-let apartment, but a home in a well-maintained building with a reliable management company. Their budget was around 1 million euros. The son would live there during his studies and remain in London to work afterwards. For now, the family wasn’t planning to let the flat.

The search began remotely: the family were viewing floor plans and video tours recorded on-site. We helped them narrow down the areas, compared listings, and carried out legal and tax checks. This reduced the need for trips to the UK and allowed the deal to proceed at a comfortable pace.

Another family from Europe bought a completed apartment in London for 800,000 euros. Their children also study in the UK, and the clients themselves visit London often for holidays, friend meetings, exhibitions and events. Tranio presented several turnkey options and helped source a unit. The transaction was completed in the shortest possible time. The unit is now used as a second home, though the owners say they may consider letting it in future.

Some clients decided to buy off-plan. The third family purchased a property at the construction stage. Their daughter already lives and studies in London, and the parents wanted to invest in a reliable area. We advised them on payment stages and future rental options after completion. The apartment is still under construction but has already appreciated in value.

London has many districts, each with its own character. Prime areas include Kensington, Chelsea and Belgravia — ideal for those who value prestige, architecture and leafy parks. Mayfair appeals for its restaurants, clubs and HQs of global firms. Others prefer Battersea, with its modern developments and Thames views. Holland Park is a top choice for families, thanks to its many private schools.

How We Supported the Process

In all three cases, clients worked with Tranio expert Natalia Emelyanenko. We handled the entire process: from defining the brief and selecting the right area, to legal due diligence, developer vetting and handover.

For clients based abroad, it was especially important to have reliable, up-to-date information, timely updates on listings, and clarity on UK law including tax and ownership structures like freehold and leasehold.

We also assist with other aspects: choosing a management company, furnishing the property and organising lettings.

  • World-class education. London universities consistently rank among the best globally.
