Ranking of the best cities for expats 2022 revealed

Experts of the largest online expat community InterNations have ranked the most attractive metropolitan areas to work and live in. Spanish Valencia takes the first place, and the UAE’s largest city Dubai ranks second. The third place is occupied by the capital city of Mexico.

Analysts take into account factors such as quality of life, safety, career prospects, climate and environment, finance, culture, transportation, access to government services and the Internet. 

The top-10 list of most comfortable cities includes the following locations:

1. Valencia (Spain)
2. Dubai (UAE)
3. Mexico City (Mexico)
4. Lisbon (Portugal)
5. Madrid (Spain)
6. Bangkok (Thailand)
7. Basel (Switzerland)
8. Melbourne (Australia)
9. Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates)
10. Singapore (Singapore)

Experts also analysed the cities with the worst conditions for work and life:

1. Johannesburg (South Africa)
2. Frankfurt am Main (Germany)
3. Paris (France)
