Despite the controversy surrounding the tradition, bullfighting remains an important part of Spanish culture. In the Costa Blanca region, some cities still host the famous bullfights, as well as alternative bull shows.

You can watch traditional Spanish bullfighting at the Plaza de Toros in Alicante. Traditional bullfights are held here with the participation of the best matadors in Spain. In Denia, you can also watch or participate in the «Bous a la Mar» show, during which participants run away from bulls into the sea.

The Costa Blanca is famous not only for its resorts, but also for its amazing nature, which includes mountains, gorges, salt lagoons, and caves.

  1. Peñón de Ifach is a majestic cliff 332 metres high, towering over the sea and is one of the most recognisable symbols of the Costa Blanca. This place attracts tourists with the opportunity to climb to the top and enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, admire colonies of rare seabirds, and take stunning aerial photos.
  2. La Mata and Torrevieja Natural Park, located in Torrevieja, is famous for its pink and green salt lakes, where you can see flamingos and other rare birds. One of the most impressive natural phenomena here is the pink lagoon, in which, thanks to special microorganisms, the water acquires an unusual pink color. In addition, the park is known for its healing mud, rich in minerals that are beneficial to the skin, as well as hiking trails, ideal for bird watching.
  3. Montgo Natural Park, located in Denia, is one of the most picturesque points of the Costa Blanca. Montgo Mountain, 753 metres high, is an ideal place for hiking, camping, and stargazing. The climb to the top takes about 2.5 hours, but the stunning views of Denia and the Mediterranean Sea make this trip truly unforgettable.
