Turkey: foreign nationals buy 4 out of 10 residential properties in Antalya
In September 2022, 37% of residential properties in Antalya were bought by foreign nationals, which is a record level of the total sales statistics. In Istanbul, the total figure was 9.4% (1,795 properties sold).
In September, the number of transactions by foreign buyers decreased compared to the same month 2021. Nevertheless, their share remains the same as citizens of other countries make about 4.5% of all real estate transactions. Foreigners’ interest persists despite significant increase in prices of both dollar and domestic currency.
During the period from January to September the sales volume increased by 32.5% (amounting to 49,644 transactions) compared to the same period 2021. In September 2022, the largest number of purchases was recorded among citizens of the Russian Federation (1,196 properties), Iran (592 properties) and Iraq (433 properties).
