Turkish government to present new social housing project
The Minister of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change Murat Kurum reports that 81 provinces will plan to launch social housing programs on terms affordable for minimum wage workers.
The social housing project will be financed by the Turkish government, and the construction shall be completed in about 3 years. The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recognised the housing project as the largest in the country's history.
According to the program, low-income families, pensioners, and family members of veterans will be able to buy residential properties at more favourable and lower prices using the long-term instalment plan for up to 20 years. In addition, the program includes planting of greenery.
Minister Murat Kurum also says that 3-4% of housing will be available for purchase by foreign nationals.
