US E1 and E2 visas will be available to Portuguese citizens in 2023
The US Congress recently approved Portugal’s entry into the list of E1/E2 treaty countries in 2023. Under the updated terms of the agreement, the citizens of the participating countries are obliged to live on the territory of the country of citizenship for at least 3 years before applying for a US visa.
The E1 trader visa and the E2 investor visa can be obtained by citizens of those countries that have signed a special agreement with the United States. Turkey, Grenada, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan have previously joined the treaty.
