According to the study of Digital Nomad Visa Index, Spain ranks first out of 38 in the list of the best countries for digital nomads.

The criteria for evaluation in this ranking are the following: tax policy, tax-free period, internet speed, minimum income of an applicant, cost of living in a country, and health care. Spanish visa holders do not pay taxes for 6 months after the document is issued, then must pay 15% of their income. The minimum income to obtain a visa is 2,140 euros per month.

The UAE takes the fourth place in the list. An applicant must have a minimum monthly income of 5,000 euros. Visa holders do not have to pay taxes. The country also scores high on the criterion of low cost of living.

Argentina is in second place, followed by Romania in third place. The UAE is followed by Croatia, Portugal, Uruguay, Malta, Norway and Andorra.
