UAE government announces opening of Expo City Dubai in October 2022

A new business district will soon come into operation at the former Expo 2020 exhibition site. The Expo City Dubai is intended to demonstrate a responsible approach to the event infrastructure.
The re-launch of main venues is set on October 1, 2022, as it has been recently announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and the Prime Minister of the UAE.
Expo City Dubai is going to provide space for the offices of the German conglomerate Siemens and the logistics operator DP World. There are also new office centres, shopping malls, and residential estates in the district.
Altogether, about 80% of facilities built for the Expo 2020 were redeveloped for new purposes. The responsible approach is also reflected in the fact that the entire construction project did not involve single-use plastic.
