The Golden Visa programme in the United Arab Emirates has emerged as a pathway for foreign nationals to obtain long-term residency, providing a myriad of benefits and opportunities. While initially introduced to attract investors, entrepreneurs, and skilled professionals, the program has expanded to include family members, making it an even more appealing prospect for those seeking stability and growth in the vibrant UAE.

Golden Visa Requirements

Depending on the type and eligibility of sponsorship, which is determined by the visa category, Golden Visa holders may be able to sponsor family members and dependants.

To be eligible to apply for a Golden Visa for Family Members in the UAE, a number of eligibility requirements must be met. Applicants must be relatives of a person holding a valid UAE residency visa who meets the minimum salary criteria set by the Immigration Department of 1,089 US dollars per month (4,000 dirhams).

Once dependents enter the UAE under an entry permit, a resident sponsor has 60 days to apply for their residence visa.

A resident expatriate can sponsor their daughters (with no age restrictions), sons (up to the age of 25), newborns, spouse, and elderly parents.

Required Documents for Family Members Visa

The visa application form can be submitted online. The required documents usually include an application form and clear copies of the passports of the primary visa holder and all family members applying for the residence visa. Passports must be valid for at least six months.

Additional documents:

  • Passport photos
  • Marriage certificate
  • Birth certificates
  • Medical examination results
  • Proof of accommodation
