Montenegro supports energy efficiency measures for buildings

The Investment and Development Fund (IDF) and the Environmental Protection Fund (Eco Fund) of Montenegro encourage companies, entrepreneurs and farmers to use solar power plants with the possibility of subsidizing loans with grants, as reported by Balkan Green Energy News, the website covering sustainable energy, climate action and environmental protection.
The Global Environment Fund finances the Green Jobs project which plans to launch this initiative in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program.
Funds are available until the end of 2021. Loans range from 3,000 to 400,000 euros with a 3% interest rate per annum. The repayment period can be up to 10 years, including a grace period of up to one year.
Companies that are actively taking energy efficiency measures can apply for participation in the interest-free loan programme of the Ministry of Capital Investment by August 27. The country has allocated 200,000 euros for the project.
