Bobbio is an old resort town (balneology, alpine skiing) in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, in the valley of the Trebbia River near Piacenza, at the foot of the high mountain Peniche.
In the center of the city rise the cathedral with a high bell tower, founded in 1075, but completed only in 1463, and the basilica of sv. Columban with the tombs of local abbots. A 280-meter-old Humpback Bridge stretches across Trebbia to Bobbio, whose history dates back to the days of Ancient Rome. The city has preserved many other ancient buildings. From time to time in Bobbio a small screening takes place.
