Kas, once an unspoiled fishing village, is a modern port city today, with developed infrastructure and romantic atmosphere on the south side of Turkey's two hours drive to the south-east of Fethiye and three hours' drive south-west of Antalya. Despite dozens of new hotels and pensions, Kas still has charm, part of which comes from its setting at the foot of mountains overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Another part of its charm comes from the leisurely atmosphere of the Kas. Kas is located a few hours away from the two main airports of the Mediterranean (Antalya and Dalaman), therefore, the flow of tourists in this city is much smaller than in cities closer to airports. Ruins of the ancient town of Antiphellus mix with modern buildings in Kas. Across the sea to the south of the Kas is located a Greek island Megisti. It's a great variant for a day trip. Kas is also a good starting point for exploring the ancient Lycian cities and archaeological sites.
