Kalkan — this is more than the usual resort town, it attracts travelers looking for not only a beach holiday. Along the coast of Turkey, there is no such Kalkan town. The town is located around the historic harbor at the foot of the towering Taurus Mountains. Narrow streets with old whitewashed villas with mixing window, next to the small local shops and restaurants in historic buildings coming down the harbor.
Originally carved Ottoman Greek wooden balconies with colorful cascades bougainvillea's, decorated with garlands running down the street. This is a very special place with a unique atmosphere.
Due to the very strict building regulations town remains small and architecturally blended with the historic center of the city, known as Old Kalkan.
Many restaurants, built in the style of the famous historic architecture creates a special atmosphere of Kalkan. A good dining has always been part of the tradition in Kalkan and continues to this day.
