The advantages of this location are quite clear, the endless view of the Seddinsee, the proximity to the city center of Berlin (by car about 35 minutes) and the existing good infrastructure.
Many single-family homes characterize the face of the district, which creates a restful microclimate through spacious green areas and the diverse water landscape. Alt-Schmöckwitz is connected to the public transport network by the S-Bahn Grünau and Eichwalde and various bus lines or the streetcar # 68 which runs directly along the water to Adlershof (S-Bahn) in 15 minutes and Köpenick.
An elementary school and several day care centers are located in Schmöckwitz/Eichwalde. Likewise, various doctors of different specialties have settled. A modern supermarket NETTO and REWE are within walking distance of 7 minutes. Schmöckwitz is, due to its water location, a popular recreational destination. In the summer months a ferry runs from Schmöckwitz to the peninsula Krampenburg to the campsites north of the Dahme at the Große Krampe.
