Coppedè is one of the most unusual and atmospheric areas of Rome, hidden between the streets of Via Trevere and Via Salaria, in the Triste quarter. This is not a classic district in the usual sense, but an architectural ensemble created at the beginning of the 20th century by the Florentine architect Gino Coppedè, whose name it bears.
The quarter consists of about 40 buildings and several villas, decorated in an eclectic style that combines Art Nouveau, Baroque, Gothic, antique and even elements of a medieval castle. In the center of the district is Piazza Mincio, decorated with the famous Fountain of the Frogs (Fontana delle Rane) — it was here, according to legend, that The Beatles once bathed after a performance in Rome.
Coppedè enchants with its fabulous and slightly surreal atmosphere, ideal for leisurely walks and inspiration. This is one of those corners of Rome that still remains little known to tourists, retaining an aura of mystery and elitism.
