Brief historical information:
Saint-Angeaux is the name given to this castle located in the Riom valley. It was included in the lands of Soulou-Lagan, separated until 1343 from the lands of Châteauneuf. These lands belonged to Etienne and Bernard of Lagan in that year 1343, and the fief was sold to Bertrand de Latour, the family of a noble knight-crusader who was the owner of these very lands of Riom. In 1469, by marriage, it passed to the House of Chabannes, and it was Jean Charles de Chabannes who rebuilt the Château de Saint-Ango in 1619 (before this, in 1587, the estate belonged to Catherine de Medici, but Queen Catherine returned it to her knight of honor François de Chabannes, paying 18,500 crowns). Finally, with the marriage of Marguerite de Chabannes to the Marquis de Miramont in the 18th century, the estate became the property of the House of Miramont.
