Prices for flats in Paris


The capital of France, like the Côte d'Azur, is one of the top real estate markets in the country. Apartments in Paris are popular with investors buying overseas real estate. Prices for flats in Paris are some of the highest in Europe. The most expensive houses for sale are found in districts (arrondissements) 6 and 7 where they can sell for €13,000 per square metre. If you want to buy prime property, it costs €16,500–19,500/sq. m. and can reach €55,000/sq. m. The cheapest flats for sale in the capital are located in districts 19 and 20 and rarely cost over €6,000/sq. m.


Investors should look for properties in districts 5, 6 and 8 while families with children will enjoy districts 4–9, 15 and 17. It is prestigious to live in districts 1–6 and the area around the Luxembourg Garden is great for larger budgets. Apartments in Paris were cheaper during the '08-‘09 financial crisis but the market recovered in 2010 and has been stable ever since.
