Apartments in Latvia. Latvian flat prices

Riga and Jūrmala are the most popular destinations to buy apartments in Latvia. The quality and price of Latvian apartments are dependent on the type of building. Soviet-era flats in panel buildings sell for €25,000–40,000 and in Jūrmala for €50,000–60,000.

In midtown Riga, the price of a new flat ranges from €3,000 to €4,000 per square meter, prime property costs €4,000–5,000/sq. m. and apartments in renovated downtown houses range from €2,800 to €3,500/sq. m.

Flats in Jūrmala's modern residential complexes near the sea average €300,000–400,000 and the buying price of prime property may be up to €5,000–€7,000/sq. m.

Overseas buyers often purchase flats for sale in Latvia in order to obtain a residency permit. The qualifying investment, in the amount of at least €250,000, can buy a spacious 2- or 3-bedroom forest-view apartment in the old part of Jugla, Riga, or a 50 sq. m. apartment in a renovated house dating back to 1910 in a prestigious district.

The most popular Latvian towns are Daugavpils, Jelgava, Liepāja, Mārupe, Ozolnieki, Saulkrasti and Cēsis. Property here is reasonably priced at €300–500/sq. m., making it substantially cheaper than Riga and Jūrmala.
